Don’t Waste Our Times Productions believes that teaching is an art, that the
public school is an act of faith and that neither can be measured fairly or
effectively using quantitative methods. Therefore high stakes testing as it
exists today creates a false sense of accountability and should be replaced with
project-based curriculum and community accountability through publication. DWOT
productions creates opportunities for community accountability through
publication with Community-Wide Alternative Education
opportunities for EVERYONE!
University of Michigan Labor Studies Conference 2008!
Don't Waste Our Times
Productions had a unique opportunity to present our special brand of
Community-Wide Alternative Education for students attending this year's UM Labor
Studies conference. Students identified concerns and created action plans to
alert and engage others in the community!
Letter from the Organizers (word document)
Women’s History Month 2008 was a smashing success thanks to our participating teachers, Jessica Anderson (Thurston Elementary), Joan Boutette (South Lyon Elementary), Molly Crankshaw and Trevor Staples (Burns Park Elementary). Thanks also to Anne Marie Roberts and the Community High School Film and Video Production class (who recorded our event and plan to make a short film of the project) and especially Grace Shackman for her fascinating talk on local women’s history.
We would also like to thank our wonderful volunteers from Washtenaw Community College’s Philosophy Club,Socrates Cafe and Project SERVE, Maureen Perault and University Living Assisted Living for their participation and support and especially Paul Saginaw and Zingerman’s Bakehouse for their continued support of our events!
Don’t Waste Our Times Productions would like to thank all those who have supported community-wide alternative education through our activities especially:
